Can LinksPutt be packed away and stored when not in use?
Yes - you can utilise the strong transit box for storage
How quickly can LinksPutt be set up?
The first time may take you 15-20 mins - once you are familiar with it 5-10 mins
Can I practice putts of varying length and is it suitable for left handers?
Yes - the stance board can be positioned anywhere along each side of the green, and can be set at the same contour as on the green. If you require an extra stance board so that left and right handers can use the green simultaneously, please contact us
I only have room for 3m indoors, but 5m outdoors - can the 5m be shortened?
Yes - The base panels are 1m long each, but the putting surface is continuous. So, if you bought a 5m and only wanted to set it up as a 3m, you can leave out 2 of the panels. This would leave 2m of green overhanging, which you can roll up. We have many users doing this – one has posted a review in the Amateur section on our reviews page.
Does the ball come back to me automatically?
No - you get the same pleasure out of picking the ball out of the hole as you do in real life! You have to walk to the hole anyway to pick up the balls that don't go in the hole, but hopefully missing putts will become less frequent!
How do I change the green contours?
Place the stackable plastic risers at designated points under the base, to create thousands of permutations. Stance board risers allow you to stand at exactly the same level and inclination as the contour you set on the green, giving you the correct 'feel' for the putt
Can I stand on the putting surface?
No - the base is lightweight and semi-flexible to allow the contours to be created. Accidentally stepping on the green should not cause any damage, but it is not advised. Always use the rigid stance board to putt from
Why use a Stance Board?
Other practice greens on the market scuff and wear out as you are constantly standing on the putting surface. As you never actually stand on the LinksPutt surface, it will not wear out, giving you the perfect roll time after time.
Can LinksPutt be used outdoors?
Yes - occasional rain or damp will not harm your LinksPutt, but strong winds could blow over the lightweight green. It is not recommended that you leave it outside for long periods of time. Top of page <
Can I see feedback from existing users?
Yes - please see our reviews page for comments from Amateurs, Corporate, Professionals and PGA Tour players - including Colin Montgomerie.
Why are there 2 holes?
To keep the unit as compact as possible, there are two holes to aim for. This allows you to practice severe left to right and right to left putts. If there was only one central hole, then the unit would have to be much wider and more expensive!
How will LinksPutt improve my putting?
The vast majority of putts you will encounter on a real golf course will have an element of break or slope in them. Practicing contoured putts helps to build your confidence. Practice striking the ball harder to take out some of the break - as the Professionals do. You can also purchase from us the Harold Swash putting DVD to improve your technique. So, you can now practice and learn at home! For details of Harold's superb DVD, please see our Endorsement page
How realistic is the green compared to golf course greens?
The green runs at approx 9.5 on the Stimp Meter, in the direction of the putt. This is a similar speed to that of a typical golf course summer green, and is the correct speed recommended for practice.
Why should I choose a LinksPutt?
LinksPutt is the only fully contourable practice green with variable length putts on the market today. Priced at less than many of the none-contourable greens around, the real question is “Why should I not choose a LinksPutt?”
