Golden Putter
Does it matter how good my golf clubs are if they were free? Or should I buy a better set for a beginner?
My step-father-in-law gave me a set of clubs for christmas. I don’t remember off the top of my head what they all are, but I know I have a full set of irons (they say Tour Model T/M on them), W and SW, two Putters ( I can’t really tell you much about them), a 3 wood and a 5 wood (actually wooden, with Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear on them), and two drivers, one with 12.5* loft and the other with 9.5*. I know next to nothing about golf, and I’d like to learn. I intend to just use a few of these to learn on, but am I making it too hard for myself? Should I look for a better set of beginner clubs
You can learn the basics with any clubs, you need lessons. But to play at your potential the clubs have to fit you. If these are standard clubs, and you are not unusually tall or short, or if your swing is not too slow or fast they are good enough to learn on.
