Scotty Cameron Red X Putter

Im going to get a Scotty Cameron red X Putter?
Is there going to be a difference between the X3 and X5 other than the X5 has a plumbers neck? The X5 is easier and cheaper to find on EBAY. Please don’t say go try all of them because the local golf courses don’t have them.
Thank you.
First scottys are great Putters, i personally collect them and think they are fabulous. I would recommend logging onto www.thecameroncollector.com and introducing yourself to some cameron enthusiasts.
Anyway, back to your question. Does the finish matter, they come in two different kinds of finishes.
Heres what scotty says.
The 2007 Red X3 features a classic, single bend shaft with ¼ shaft of offset for the ideal toe-flow through the stroke. Its design takes a classic mallet into another realm of performance and style. A solid face. New graphics. A new finish. And a single sight line to guide the way. NO INSERT IN THIS ONE EITHER.
Scotty removed the insert, gave the soft, round lines a glare-resistant Charcoal Mist finish and milled a single sight line. With its plumbing neck, a single shaft of offset and Tour-inspired graphics, players are calling the Red X5 one of the best mallet designs ever. SO NO INSERT IN THIS ONE.
OLDER ONES
In early 2003 Scotty started working on two designs code-named the “coupe” and “cabriolet.” Players on Tour were asking for a traditional mallet so Scotty listened to what they were looking for and got to work. He started with the shape, which he wanted to keep simple, and experimented with different metals to achieve the sound and feel that complements the design. The result is a stainless steel body with a premium precision milled German stainless steel (GSS) insert. The insert has an elastomer border, which helps achieve the proper sound. Scotty also refined the shaft bend and kept it simple, opting for a single bend shaft giving a clear, unobstructed view of the ball. The “cabriolet” is a traditional mallet shape with the top down! Scotty thinks that the Red X mallets produce some of the best sound of all of his designs. THESE ARE THE RED X and the X 2. HAVE INSERTS.
In case your curious, the red x is not one of the more popular cameron models, along with the detour, there are few players that prefer them. If you looking for a mallet i recommend a squareback, a fastback, or a del mar, which will be going down in price. Wait for the right price.
