Shafted Putter

Putter Shafts?
Any thoughts or comments about the differences between mounting the putter’s shaft on the heel versus a Center Shafted Putter? Effect either would have on the same stroke?
Most modern heel shafted Putters are cranked so that the line of the shaft still passes through the blade center / sweet spot. The design prevents any twisting of the shaft when the ball is hit on the sweet spot. Center shafted types have the shaft directly behind the sweet-spot, so there can’t be any twisting – so long as you hit the ball on that sweet spot!
Players I have spoken to who use the center shaft type said that the center shaft helps them to align and hit the ball on the sweet spot every time, giving them more consistant distance and direction. I could have argued, “So why doesn’t Tiger Woods use one then?”
I think the only important thing is how a putter “feels” to you personally, so its best to “test drive” as many as possible. I recently bought a hot running two-ball putter after picking it up “Just to see how it feels!”
