Why is football the only sport where it’s not ok to run up the score?
If Tiger Woods has a twelve stroke lead going to the 18th he should use a Putter so as not to offend the other golfers. If Roger Federer is up two sets to none maybe he ahould take 30 mph off his serve. When the Rangers scored 30 runs in a game last year why didn’t every player go up there without a bat and just hope for a walk? Sounds pretty stupid right? Then why are the Patriots expected to lay down and make the other teams feel better? Their back-ups are crushing teams. This is one of the best teams in the history of the NFL and we should be enjoying it not criticizing it. By the way, I’m not even a Patriots fan but how can you not enjoy watching them?!?!?
thats a really good observation…i agree with you….i think you should play your hardest till the final second….sometimes not running up the score can hurt you….i go to penn state and we always play sooooo conservatively, especially with a lead, and this past week we were up 24-7 on michigan state and ended up losing b/c of our conservative nature (and our lack of defense)…..i feel like we held back…..
i think we should be admiring the patriots and i personally would love tom brady to break every td and scoring record ever created…..i’ve always been told to try hard and do my best and this whole not run up the score thing is contradictory ot that motto that so many americans live by
